Sonelgaz

Sonelgaz is the historical leader in the field of electricity and gas supply in Algeria. Established in 1969, Sonelgaz has been serving the Algerian citizen for over half a century by providing this essential energy source for daily life. Following the enactment of the law on electricity and gas distribution via pipelines in 2002, Sonelgaz has been transformed from a vertically integrated company to a holding company overseeing 11 subsidiaries, directly controlled by the Holding.

Sonelgaz has always played a major role in the economic and social development of the country. Its contribution to the realization of the national energy policy is reflected in the significant programs implemented in rural electrification and public gas distribution, which have raised the electricity coverage rate to 98% and the gas penetration rate to 70% by the end of 2023.

Its core business subsidiaries produce, transport and distribute electricity, as well as pipeline for transmission and distribution of gas. Its service subsidiaries mainly operate in the fields of energy equipment manufacturing and maintenance, distribution of electrical and gas equipment and exceptional transportation and handling.
