Electrogenos is a deep-tech company developing advanced materials and systems for ultra-efficient electrolysis, cutting green hydrogen production costs by up to 43%. Its patented EG2 catalyst uses earth-abundant metals instead of platinum or iridium, removing reliance on critical raw materials. EG2 reaches over 98% efficiency against an industry standard of 78–80%, at a stack cost of $85 per kilowatt, breaking the long-standing trade-off between cost, efficiency and durability. It fits proven alkaline stack architecture, and its air-cooled design eliminates the cooling-water burden. Headquartered in the UK with its R&D team, and with entities in Spain and Abu Dhabi, Electrogenos has completed its seed round and is seeking European industrial partners and project developers to scale EG2.
